About Suzuki QLD

In 1959, the company sent a director to Japan seeking a suitable, quality product to sell in the Queensland and Northern Rivers NSW market. That visit launched Suzuki' Qld's relationship with Suzuki in Japan. in 1960, the first Suzuki motorcycles ever exported from Japan, landed in Brisbane. The ship which delivered them continued on to New Zealand with that country's first shipment of Suzuki motorcycles.

In mid-1974 the first Suzuki vehicles arrived in Queensland. The model was the LJ50 - a 540cc 3 cylinder two-stroke four-wheel-drive. Amazingly Suzuki Auto Co. sold around 100 LJ50's a month. Initially there was only one model and only one colour - value for money has always been, as it is today, the top consideration for Suzuki.

Suzuki in Queensland and Northern Rivers NSW has come a long way since then through being dedicated to supplying the market with quality products representing extremely good value for money, backed by a professional dealer network. Suzuki Auto Co. is proud to be the first privately owned Suzuki distributor in the world outside of Japan and delighted to still be providing Queensland and Northern Rivers NSW market with Suzuki products.
